Well what can we say about today? Lets start with the tale of breakfast. This morning we had pancakes, lots of them. To change things up a little we really went out on a limb and added chopped banana to the mix. I know, we really are living out there – crazy, out of control etc. With lashings of maple syrup it made for a splendid start to the day. Shortly after 10 am the tree of us headed across the island to the north coast on a trip to find Anne. We had been recommended to stop off at a few other places like beaches and quaint fishing ports. Although it was sunny it was still quite cold and as the sea was frozen no one was fishing. Again everything looked deserted. We stopped off at the house where Anne lived. This is part of the Prince Edward Island national park and the building has been preserved and decorated as described in the book. Of course this meant nothing to Ed but Ronnie seemed happy. Ed was more interested in the old cast iron stove, he even took pictures of it. The lady who showed us around was extremely excitable and also ginger. If it wasn’t for the fact that the book was set ages ago and that it’s fictional, this lady could well have been Anne herself. After a second walk around the house we left and drove around some more. We stopped at Kensington for lunch before heading back to Charlottetown.
Not much happened for the rest of the day although we did go out for a rather splendid steak dinner at a wine bar in town.
