Bingo and Flamingoes

So, away from home again :). In Chile now, having steamed through Brazil and Argentina at high speed, laying waste to numerous pastries and a significant quantity of Frango, which is allegedly chicken but looks like irradiated tuna-fish. Had some delays at Foz do Iguaçu/Puerto Iguazu on the Brazil/Argentina border when some teachers decided to picket and close the road to the waterfalls. ho hum. Also, the cross-border buses here have an interesting technique to irritate tourists, they wait for you as you pass through Argentine border control, but on the Brazilian side, they just write you a paper ticket and bugger off, leaving you to wait at the border for the next bus, which might not be for a couple of hours. Thanks. That extra 5 minutes you couldn´t wait has left us baking in the sun for ages. So that was nice.

The falls were nice, interesting butterflies and quite enormous spiders too. And some kind of raccoony/bandicoot thing. No idea what it was, but it was probably rabid.

Also, I have found travel nirvana, and it goes by the name of "Cama Suite". Fully flat chair/beds on the bus, whisky, snacks, hot meals, personal TV showing quality films (admittedly you can´t hear them and have to guess at the spanish subtitles), it´s great. As good as a train, and aside from the odd straight-to-video Jean Claude van Damme, entertaining too.

We went to the end of the world, but it rained, so we didn´t see a lot. We´re now about to embark upon an "interesting" cruise (part-converted cow ferry) through the Chilean fjords, which is reasonably expensive, but should be great, and anyway.... we can affjord it!

hehe. oh, and just saw some kind of kestrel hawk thing eating a smaller bird. and they have big eagles, comical camelids and flamingoes here. Also bingo.

I´ll upload some photos when I´ve taken some good ones...
