Today was Selita's bridal shower at the Willows restaurant in town. It was a beautiful restaurant and although we had expected about 20, only about 11 could be there due to the airline companies closing and people no longer being able to make it. It was still really fun; a delicious buffet (pronounced buff-AY!!), some bridal shower games (I won the word scramble test, yay for English teaching!), opened gifts, and watched a slideshow of Selita and Ryan. Very cute!
Afterwards Sandra and I headed back to her house to prepare for the BBQ. I learned how to make bacon-mushroom wraps (exactly what they're called), and our first guest to arrive at 5pm was my cousin Paul Park. By the end of the night, it was Kevin, Isaac, Jenn, Jenn, Cammie, Ariel and her husband Nick, Selita and Ryan, Phong, John Gullet, Sala and her friend Allen, Ceci and Sandra, Sandra and Marvin, and I. Whew! A great crowd. We didn't start eating until about 8:30pm because Marvin and Sandra only had a little tiny BBQ grill to work with, and to feed that many people took that long. But there was plenty of food, good conversation, the weather was perfect, and I think everyone had a great time.
