| | | Whitsundays continued! | | | | | Okay here we go!
Snorkelling on the reef was amazing! The reef is so colourful that it doesnt even look real! When we finally got back on the boat we sailed to South Molle island where another boat owned by the same company as the one we were on was docked for the night. The island had a bar where we went to shore and had dinner with the people from the other boat. Surprisingly enough we met up with a few people who had been in our group for the Fraser Island trip! Dan and the Swedish girls. Dan invited us back to where they were staying and we met some of the people from the other boat before all heading back to the bar for some fun! The music was so great and we danced the night away. Jason and I caught the little dingy back to where our boat was moored at 11:00 and went to bed. The beds are surprisingly comfy on a yacht!
The next day we woke up and teh captain had already sailed to a new spot called Whitehaven beach which has the whitest sand I have ever seen! We stayed there for 2 hours and a game of ultimate frisbee broke out :o) I helped scre two goals...yup...helped..didnt actually score myself :o) Then we sailed for a bit and had quiche for lunch on the boat. We snorkelled some more but there was a hole in my snorkel so I had to make do with holding my breath. There werent as many fish but some people said they saw a turtle. I had a shower and of course while I was in there everyone else saw a dolphin :o( We had dinner which was really good...but the main dish was fish so I lived off the mashed potatoes salad and garlic bread which was okay by me!
That evening (after a nice sunset) the captain put a big light out over the water and we all sat and watched the little fish swimming in the light...then huge bat fish came along and started eating them! While we were watching this happen a dolphin jumped up in front of our boat!!! He stayed around for about 2 hours! It was amazing! Then a blow fish came along and when the bat fish tried to eat it it blew up which was neat to see...what a ridiculous defence :o)
The next day we woke up early and had breakfast. It was nice and warm so instead of snorkelling at our next stop all the girls tanned on the deck while the men went snorkelling...quite funny actually. When we started to sail back to the mainland for the end of our journey it got SO windy that the boat was sailing on its side! We all sat at the front and got soaked when the water splashed over the boat. It was so wavey that I felt a bit queasy actually!
That was the end of our trip. It was amazing and such a different experience from Fraser! I think I liked Whitsunday islands best but both were incrediable! We went out with a few people from te boat for drinks...stayed in Airlie Beach then drove up to Townsville this morning. We are chilling here before heading to Magnetic island for the day tomorrow.
Having an amazing time! The past week has been great! We only have a few more days with our spaceship before we have to drop it off on thursday :o( It will be hard to say goodbye as it has been so good to us!
Miss you all!
Jenn xoxo
