I have mentioned previously how hard it is right now for me to communicate. And it really sucks when you go into a room full of people that don’t speak the same language as you and it takes maybe 10 minutes for you to run though your entire portfolio of verbs/phrases/curse words/ ect……then you get to sit there in an uncomfortable silence until you either remember something new….or the group just simply moves on without you. So after, I don’t know….let say 100 of these incidents…I started thinking how I could possibly do a better job of making everyone feel a little more at ease…..and I really think that I struck gold.

So now….once I have depleted my extensive Spanish vocabulary, I have begun making random statements to make everyone feel a little more at ease when I am around. Below are some samples:

1. Hello, I am 8 weeks late for my period.
2. I won’t do it without a condom.
3. You are just using me for sex.
4. No, I do not want a blood transfusión today.
5. No thanks, I have my own syringe.

And my favorite…..

Do you mind if I breast feed here?

The first time I pulled this…….my entire family laughed for 30 minutes. Now, when we all get together, I can feel their anticipation as they wonder what is going to come out of my mouth next……..

Hasta Luego
