I'm typing from Budapest Hungary! After driving all day we're here! It was intense at times. The two guys on our team are our drivers (Charlie and Jordan). Pray for them lots as it's tiring! They switched off every two to three hours, but we has a little scare at the being of the trip, God protected us as we had to serve to avoid a car and we almost lost control (this was on dry roads, no snow). The van we're driving takes some getting used to, but it's all good. God kept us and the other cars safe, we pulled of to make sure everything was ok and a nice man driving a semi-truck pulled off to make sure we were ok and helped us to see what had gone wrong. Traffic and routes made our trip take longer than expected. We reached our destination at like 10pm tonight. We are at the Ywam Base here in Budapest (and I must say, it's a sweet place, unique old architechture, tile floors, balconies, narrow curving stairways. I'll take pictures, if not today, then in May, because this is where we'll be living for the month of May doing ministry. Let me tell you! This is unreal. Our route got changed again and we ended up driving through Germany and Austria to get here. I feel so chill about the fact that I've been in three (four) different countries today! Wow. We didn't stop to sight-see, but I must say, what I say from the highway was beautiful. Gorgeous landscape. I slept a lot in the car, (two hours of sleep last night, btwn packing and other teams leaving at 4:30am and wanting to say final goodbyes.) Guess what? I was able to knit the whole way here and not get car sick! Truely a miracle! It was like that for me when I went on a youth misisons trip to mexico in 2002: 56 hours on a ghetto coach bus and I was able to crochet and read my bible like crazy and not get sick at all. So yeah, keep this in your prayers, b/c I'm done what I was knitting, but I'd love to be able to use the time to read. Tomorrow is a chill day before heading off to Apata Romania first thing sunday morning. We'll get to know this base a bit and meet more of hte people who we will be working with. Tonight is such a blessing! Fresh beds, towels, Hungarian chocolate and the apartment is so cozy. I need to get to sleep, but please continue to keep us all in your prayers: especially for safety for our van (against getting broken into, especially tonight) and our safety on the roads and alertness for us as a team, especially our drivers. We have a sweet stash of heathy food to munch on: apples, bananas, carrots and granola bars. As well as bread, peanut butter and jam.
