| | | Climbing the Harbour Bridge and Cruising past the Opera House | | | | | Sydney has definately been the best place I've visiting so far. The city just has such a good feel to it and there's so much to see and do. On our first full day we spent the morning doing some sight seeing. We started at Darling Harbour, where we discovered a Lindt Cafe which was quite a find! Apparently its the worlds first but hopefully they'll start popping up in more places - one back home would be very welcome indeed! We also went into the Casino there but you had to join up to put on a bet so just had a look round then left which was a shame as I was hoping our visit to the fountain of wealth back in Singapore might've meant some good luck!
We then walked to Circular Quay which is where the Sydney Opera House is and its a very impressive sight - quite shiny which I wasn't expecting. You also get very good views of the Habour Bridge from here too. In the afternoon we made our way to the Harbour Bridge as we were doing the Climb there. I was a bit worried before hand that it would be quite strenuous and maybe a bit daunting but apart from climbing a few ladders its more of a walk. I would definately recommend doing the climb as you get some spectacular views and its a pretty amazing structure to be able to climb.
After our climb we decided to be more adventurous and try some australian tucker so between the three of us we shared a crocodile pizza, an emu pizza and a kangaroo pizza. I was quite looking forward to the crocodile one but it was my least favourite - won't be trying that again. I wasn't too sure about the kangaroo one either but the emu one was pretty nice.
The following day in Sydney was pretty nice so we took a train and a bus to Coogee beach and walked along the coast to Bondi beach. The scenery was quite stunning and it was a nice walk. Along the walk there were various exercise stations too where you could do sit ups etc so we had a few goes on those so all in all a good work out day! In the evening we made our way back down to Circular Quay where we had dinner. Sydney was participating in Earth Hour which is where they turn off lots of unnesscary lights etc so it was pretty cool to dine by candle light watching various lights switching off. We also saw the harbour bridge lights turn off.
On our last day in Sydney we made our way to the Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout tower so we could get some good snaps of Sydney. When you do the bridge climb your not allowed to take your camera up or any belongings so your given free entry to the pylon so you can get some photos. We then wandered through a market in the Rocks which was the place of the first European Settlements. Finally we took a boat ride through Sydney Harbour to take in the sights for the last time!
