So I have a solid two weeks under my belt and things are coming along nicely…..well almost everything. Let’s not even get into the sheer mass of new grammatical information that is dumped on me everyday…..I am talking about something much simpler. I am talking about SPELLING!!! Bill and his wonderful spell-check tool have slowly but surely taken a skill that was mandatorily (I had to spell-check the word mandatorily) honed for years and made it duller than a butter knife. Let me run this scenario by you….. How many times have you been at the house….and lets say that you want to write a note to/for someone? You begin your note and then stumble upon a word that for some reason just does not look right. So what do you do? Not sure about you……but like a moron, I go and check just how stupid I really am using the Bill's wonderful program. So now that I am learning a new language……the fact that I cannot even spell in my native tongue sure as hell does not help me.
Needless to say, my dictionary has become like another appendage for me now….as my ability to spell has all but vanished. Thank you Bill……..
PS…..If I knew who came up with the calculator……I would most likely not donate to any of their charities either. That tool has crippled society. If more than 10 of my friends want to get together for dinner, I have an internal debate to determine if I should even attend…..because I know as soon as the check comes it will be like a group of kindergarteners trying to solve a calculus equation.
