Just spent the afternoon watching Arsenal v Liverpool quarter final in Finn McCools, mainly cockney scousers in there but a good laugh. I've persuaded Lee, the owner to open up for me at 7am on Sunday so I can watch the Boro v Man U. Have ditched the idea of the beach this weekend, can't be doing with the ya yahs (Last night they changed their team name from Gap Yah to "For Real").
After my dad's scathing comments re: James Patterson I would like to add onto my criticism about current book (The Hours, Pulitzer Prize Winner thingy apparently) .... it's just awful, contrived writing. Obviously the formula is to over-describe and analyse everything to eek out the pages. Last night one of the women booked into a hotel for a few hours to get some peace to read a book, 7 pages (front and back to quote Ross from Friends) to get her from booking in at reception to get in the lift and into her room. 7 Pages, she wasn't mugged en route, a lion didn't suddenly attack her, she just booked in, walked to lift and went to room - 7 pages. Ridiculous.
Sorry, normal service will resume with my blog and I'll report on stuff I'm supposed to and not be a literary critic .... once I've forced myself to finish the damn thing - Michael Connelly awaits - yay !
