| | | San Pedro de Laguna | | | | | I am going to miss San Pedro de Laguna. This is one fun little town set on the banks of Lake Atitlan. So many expat’s have landed here and never left. The city is full of people who just decided one day to stay and set up shop. I had one of the best Falafels ever from an Israelí guy who fell in love with this place and just opened a stand with his girlfriend. The lake is so nice and warm that I swam for an hour and a half. Now, I was warned against this by some and others said go right ahead. It is by far not the cleanest lake. Since I had snorkeling gear I could see the plastic bags of garbage floating by under the water. So I have my fingers crossed that I don’t get some form of Hepatitis. Thank god I got my A and B shots. That C is going to be a bugger.
Today I bumped into Justin a guy who I have to mention in my journal. Justin and I have been leap frogging each other since Honduras. I every city I have been Justin has either caught up to me or I have caught up to him. It is strange turning a corner in a town and whoa it’s Justin. With all the places on Lake Atitlan and actually Central America we are on the same path. Funny really.
Tonight that strangest thing is happening in that one half of the sky is covered by storm clouds and the other is clear and full of stars. I have never seen so many stars and have developed an appreciation for why the Mayan’s became star gazing cultures.
