|  | | I got crabs!!! | | | | | Well…..I am sure this post will get a decent number of reads simply because of the title. It will have to do as they took down my pics of the local Costa Rican paper with the women on it…..my apologies to the webmaster.
So today I went on my first run since arriving in Samara. I was stretching beforehand thought that 45 min. would be sufficient. Two things I did not take into account.
1. It is in the middle of summer here.
2. I am about 4K away from a full on Rainforest/Jungle.
About 5 minutes into my run…..I was sweating so badly that I could barely hold onto my IPOD. Once I got into the woods……I felt like Aretha Franklin was sitting on my chest. Just when I would about to throw in the town and head back to the house…..I saw a beach just up ahead. There are a couple of hardcore surfers at the school that had been talking about Playa a al Izquierda……and here it was before me. Now I will be the first to give Townlake (in Austin) props on the great views along the trails…..but this is in an entirely different league. I have pics posted of the beach. The most amazing part of the run was when I got to the sand/rocks. Spread out over the entire beach where thousands of bright red and black crabs. I had my music up pretty loud (to drown out the sound of me bitching about the heat) and I could still hear all the crabs running. The tough part was when the larger crabs stopped running and raised their claws in defense and I had to jump over each one. It ended up being a pretty intense workout…
I am headed back to the beach this evening so that I can get some pics of the crabs......
