On Friday 28th March Ben and I went to Sentosa Island. There are several ways of getting to Sentosa Is. You can drive, taxi, bus, light rail or cable car. We took the cable car.
There are a few attractions on Sentosa, but it is a very over crowded with long lines. Overall, I would say that Sentosa is overrated...too commercial. We went to the underwater world - completely overrated! Then we went to the 4D log ride attraction. That was really good. Then we went to the Sky Tower. That was good...we had some nice views of Sentosa and Singapore, however some of the views were scarred with the oil refineries along the close horizon. We took the cable car back to Singapore, and then we caught a couple of trains to get us to the bus stop to go to the Night Safari. The trains are very crowded - its times like this that I am glad I am tall - breathe fresher air!
The Night Safari was excellent! We ate at Bongo Burgers for dinner then we lined up for a guided tram tour of the park. I really recommend paying the $10 extra for the tram tour. After the tram tour we walked through the park on the foot trails. The animals were very gorgeous. It was very warm and sticky though...but somehow I had heaps of energy. Some of the animals were reluctant to show themselves though. Some of the animals we saw were elephants, bats, hippopotamus’, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, lions, hyenas and zebras.
We caught a bus back to the city - a few blocks from our hotel. It was an easier option as we were planning to bus then train back, then saw this as we lined up for the bus.
