Thanks for the lovely messages via email and guestbook! I have made many attempts to upload pics for you all, but unfortunately the net connection is not the fastest where I have been and it crashes while loading. I will get them to you ASAP - there will be heaps!!
Ben and I departed Melbourne on Tuesday 25th March for Kuala Lumpur. Our flight took 8 hours, which seemed to pass fairly quickly. I watched Juno on the plane, listened to music and slept. We arrived in KL about 11.30 AEST.
Today we caught a plane from KL to Singapore. Very quick flight - like flying to Melbourne from Hobart. I bought myself the Dior mini perfume pack duty free - fabulous! We are staying at the Pan Pacific in Singapore. Absolutely amazing!! 5 star hotel and our room is awesome. We found it on wotif and the rates were mega cheap - 10% of normal rate - normally $500+. The PP also has glass elevators ( Mum, you would love it!!) so we have been seeing a great view of Singapore from the elevator! Ben took some amazing panoramic pics from our room window.
This afternoon we went to Orchard Rd and Raffles Hotel. We are not far from Raffles - just a block. We had a Singapore Sling at the Long Bar in Raffles. I did find it very difficult in the bar - boxes of unshelled peanuts on each table which you just crack open and drop shells on the floor. I kept mine in a pile on the floor!! As we walked into the bar we were hearing the crunch of the shells under our feet.
Tomorrow we plan to go to the Singapore Zoo in the afternoon, stay for dinner, then see the Night Safari at the SZ. Carolyn - I will get heaps of Giraffe pics for you!! In the morning I think we may go on the giant wheel in the Marina Square (you'll love this one too Mum!!) which moves very slowly.
