Got up late. One free beer last night turned into quite a few not so free ones. Didn't spend too much though, don't worry about us. Had Lucky Charms for breakfast. Marshmellow in the morning. Yum.
Applied for jobs at Big White ski resort after seeing a flyer up in the hostel. Might work in housekeeping. "Room Service".
Went walking at about 2pm. Tried to find a Snowboard shop. Need gear you know. Foound one that was having a "sale". NO TAX! Still about $600 for the cheapest. Decided to go somewhere else. Walked back to the hostel to ask how to get to West 4th Avenue. Just across the bridge you can take a bus if you want but you can walk it. We walked it. Across a bridge that was almost as high up as the Harbour Bridge. The railing was only about chest height. kind of scary. Saw a few homeless going through rubbish bins and putting things in their shopping trolleys. Sad sight but I'll get over it. The walk was quite long, aplus my legs were still hurting from yesterday's trekking. But when we got the 4th Avenue West (they can write it either way apparently) we saw heaps of places. Snowboards plus bindings for $190 (not including tax, nothing is ever including tax. Except hot dogs on the street). We looked around the various shops and that was the cheapest. Which is all I can afford right now, maybe Jonny can afford a bit more. Going back tommorrow to buy them I think.
Probably heading over to Kelowna to try and get a job at Big White. The one I just said we applied for. Face to face so to speak. We'll be staying in the backpackers there for a few nights at least. We'll see some snow I hope.
All Blacks tonight, but the games not on till 1am here. Gutted. Both of us are really tired still, hope we make it. I mean, we'll make it to the game, I just hope we make it after that. I know what I'm talking about. I'm tired, leave me alone. Write again tommorrow.
