We're done! With the great leadership of calvin martens and the hard work of our students, the house is done! We weren't scheduled to be done until tomorrow. The house sits bright pink as a lighthouse of God's goodness. The family was so grateful and when we left today, many from our team were fighting back tears because they became very connected with the neighborhood kids. As we painted the house this morning, many were getting more paint on them than on the house. While this was for most because they were inexperienced painters, there were two on our team that got paint all over because they decided to have a paint war. Katrina and Tessa were covered in paint, check out the picture. As I write, we are sitting at a church service in town that is very large and a popular place for groups from out of town. It was obvious why this is when we came in and they began playing United (a group that our youth worship teams plays songs from) songs in Spanish. Our team went right up to the front and worshipped just like they do on Tuesday nights. It was awesome. I have a call into my friend to see if we can stay at his church again on the way home. If so, we will leave tomorrow afternoon after a half day at the beach and one last stop at Queso Taco for lunch. We'll stop for the night in San Diego and get home around 2 or so. If we can't stay there, we'll stick with the original plan and do the whole thing Friday. These kids have done so well. I am so proud of them. I can't wait till we get home and you can hear from them all the things God did in and through them. Until next time...
