not much is happening.

well, it's been a few days since my last journal entry. the reason for this is simply that very little of interest has been happening. most of the first day here was spent unconscious (jet lag. i'm still getting it a little), and it was only today that i got my act together.

my first outing was to wander over to Granville Island to do a little souvenier shopping. that didn't take long, as between the stuff i couldn't afford, the stuff too large or two heavy to get, the stuff none of my friends would like and the stuff customs would shoot me for, the selection was pretty small. i eventually made a purchase (not telling what, though. have to maintain the suprise!) and set off along the seawall to my next destination: Stanley Park, a streatch of sequoia rainforest to the immediate north of downtown Vancouver. very pretty for the most part, though there were some not-so-subtle signs that some tree culling was going on that rather spoiled the 'primordial forest' effect. my stroll completed and some squirrels seen (and let me tell you, those little buggers have Attitude), i wandered back to the hostel along Davie St. stopping on the way to sample some Poutine (frenchfries and cheese curds covered in gravy). ignoring the shrieking of my arteries, i rather enjoyed the dish, though i'm glad i'm walking most places. more than one of those would kill me, i suspect. it's salad for me tonight, methinks.

my plans for the evening are somewhat vague, though i mean to head out to a nightclub to take in the tunes (and to inflict my dancing on a new audience not in posession of a cease and desist order. this is a joke.)

other than that, i'm not really sure what i'll do.

tomorrow i board a greyhound bus and head off on the overnighter for Calgary, apparently home of the Canadian Cowboy. should be interesting.

more when something happens.

stay tuned.

Next entry: Greyhound. to rhyme with "Hellish bus trip"
