In the next day morning about 5:30 AM we started to collect guys one by one and manage to leave Colombo around 6.00 AM. There were 8 of us namely Lasantha, Amitha, Thisara, Duminda, Gayan, Dushan, Ravi, Myself and our Driver was Kumara a young fellow who was a quite a good driver. We were moving on Low level road toward Awissawella. Plan was to get to Awissawella and from there through Hatton Rd to Nuwara Eliya and from there to Pattipola forestry bungalow. We had our breakfast on a roadside at Kithulgala area around 10 AM. It was Bread with Dhal curry and “Sini Sambala” which is a domestic curry made with onion and spices. Sad part was no one had a camera with then so all those photos were taken from our Mobile Cameras. We took some memorable photos there and move on. Our Next stop was at Devon Falls, Hatton. It was not like I have seen earlier, full of water from rain fall of previous day. We wait there and took some photos but hurried up to get to Nuwara Eliya as soon as possible. We got to Nuwara Eliya at about 12.30 PM. Pick lunch and went for shopping in a shopping mall at Nuwara Eliya, Took all our needs from there. Some of us didn’t had jackets, they bought some jackets for a very competitive prices from Nuwara Eliya town :D. I had a one so I just bought a hat. After collecting all our needs we start our journey toward Pattipola.
It took about an hour for us to get our needs form Nuwara Eliya town and we leave to Pattipola at about 2 PM from Nuwara Eliya town. Road to Pattipola from Nuwara Eliya was a beautiful scenery. We have to pass grasslands of New Zealand farm, Highland Milk factory and Pattipola Railway Station Sri Lanka’s highest railway station. Our bungalow was situated so close to Pattipola Station, and covered with small forest. Some trees ware fallen on to the path as a result of previous day hurricane. But the situation was better at the time we arrived at Nuwara Eliya. Electricity was yet to be repaired after cut down on previous days.
