Saturday Josh invited me to the Mito International center for a potluck they have occasionally. I wasn't super excited about it, but I figured I needed to stop being so anti-social so I decided to go. It was actually quite good fun, and I even won a prize from a meet and greet game we had to play!
Everyone was supposed to bring a special dish from their country, but being that I'm poor and I wouldn't be able to cook anything for 20 people on my one burner, I decided to go empty-handed, but they had plenty of food to go around! Josh, Blake, and Richard all brought food in as well, so at least I didn't look empty-handed!
Met a Korean guy named Sang Yong Kim, met 3 Japanese girls, one who played the congo drums later on during the entertainment. I bumped into Liza, who I hadn't seen since the Otsumi party in October and who was just a barrel of energy all over again. She's really fun, it's a shame I never got to know her better. Every time I started a conversation with someone I tried dragging one of the guys into it as well, just cuz that's what you're supposed to be doing at those things! I realized that my networking skills have waned quite a bit. I'm not able to steer conversations as well as I used to, and I get really bored and uninterested much more quickly. In short, I can't BS as well as I used to. =(
Afterwards the boys ran around shooting a little video and it was way too windy to just sit and watch, so I walked over and had a hot cocoa at Cafe DuMonde. Afterwards we watched "Coming to America" and then picked up Allie and met up with Matt at Owl's for Japanese/Thai food. We ended the night watching "Block Party" with Dave Chapelle and I passed out around 2am.
