Last night we were treated to a full lunar eclipse. It took perhaps an hour for the moon to fall completely into the shadow of the Earth. Once it was shadowed, the moon became a lovely red colour.
It is typical of Mexico that everyone I have asked had gone outside to see it happen. The government had installed telescopes in the city and even projected the event live onto a huge screen in the Zocalo. It was also shown live on television. We stayed home and watched it all from the roof. Our neighbours came out to watch it too and it was quite cosy.
The photos were taken in two different ways - one using the camera's natural inclination - in these photos you can see the shadowed half of the moon but the sunlit portion is quite bright. The other set were taken with exposure set to 1/360 and they are darker but you can see more detail of the illuminated half of the moon.
