Good Morning Vietnam!

In the famous words of Robin Williams... GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!

Yes we have finally made it after a tedious bus ride here. Was meant to be six and turned out to be more like 9! Although it didn't help that a guy had an epileptic fit 10min into the voyage. So i guess you could say we had a shakey start. And being epileptic myself, i'm allowed to say that haha!

Apart from that, it was much like our other bus trips... uneventful. We arrived at the border 6 hours after leaving Phnom Pehn. It is far nicer than the Thai/Cambodian border. There are no begging kids and no touts trying to flog off sunglasses or out-of-date news papers we can't read! The entire process was very straight forward and only took 20mins to cross the border.

We arrived in Vietnam at 3:30pm and checked into our hotel... what a shit hole! We paid $75 US dollars for the night, which is a lot in SE Asia. While in the room, i feel like Harry Potter in his "Cupboard under the stairs." And the small window we do have is covered in brown plastic so we can't see outside at all!

We only booked here for one night and have already got another hotel ready for tomorrow. Although i must say, hotels in Vietnam are a lot more expensive than in Cambodia and Thailand. Tomorrow, we will be touring the museums and checking out the shopping centres. Nic is loving all the handbags, apparently better than Bangkok!

We have booked our bus from Ho Chi Minh city to Siem Reap on the 23rd of Feb and will hopefully be back in Bangkok by the 24th. In total, we are looking at 20hours in a bus over the 23rd/24th. Yay for us! It does give you a good chance to check out all the country side though...

All in all, HCM city reminds us a lot of Bangkok, with twice the number of motor bikes (maybe three times as many.) And there are no crossings or looking left then right before you walk out. You just step out and make your way slowly to the other side not changing speed or direction. The motor bikes just avoid you.

Loving and missing you all!
Will be back in Aus in 5 days!!!
Can't wait for that roast Chris! *hint* *hint*

Love Ben & Nic!
Over and Out!
XOXOXOX
