Whale touching, touched by whales
The last day was French toast, bacon and fruit. Miguel gave us two choices, whale watching or kayaking in the lagoon. Only eight of us decided to go whale watching. Almost immediately we got into a group of whales that were just relaxing and "logging" (we learned that term from the slide show). There were about 5 to 10 boats out there at different times. The whales kept coming up beside the boats and lifting out of the water for people to touch! What a treat! Got to touch couple of times each! It is amazing how gentle they can be as you are touching them! You also get a feeing how huge they are when you are touching their head and the tail and body is under the boat!
There were a few times when it seemed the boats were crowding the whales but they seemed to keep coming back to where we were. Meo had here pitch pipe with her, on another boat there was a girl playing a wind instrument, so we were doing our best to call up the whales!
Robert was the first was the first one to touch a whale. He was not moving from side to side in the boat, he just sat in his seat back by the driver. He touched a total of four whales that day...
Meo and I both shared later we learned that negative energy does not give you the results you want. There were a couple of times when a boat would cut in front of ours and the whale would come up beside them. Both Meo and I were sending out that negative energy, whining to ourselves, why are those people in our way. The MINUTE I stopped and began to enjoy watching people´s faces as they touched the whales, here came one for me to touch! Powerful message from powerful animal! Touching the whales was truly an amazing experience and you might wonder what does a whale feel like? It is kind of hard to describe. It is not a rough texture but more smooth and kind of rubbery to me. Bill and Terah both pulled on a barnacle to see how firmly they were attached and they seemed to be firmly attached. When we headed back in it was hard to believe we had been out there for almost two hours in a small area!
