The First trip we booked ourselves was a Elephant, Bamboo Rafting, Waterfall Swimming, Cave Walking, Death Railway Combo... yes we fitted it all in to 1 day, quite a mission but a great laugh!
The morning started early with a trip to an Elephant Sanctury... before we knew it, Mum and I were on top of a bloody huge elephant, missioning around some woodland, both getting a chance to ride pretty much on it's head, once the elephant gets in it's stride, it gets a bit bumpy but you just have to get into the rythmn... we took a trip through some woods and then into a river before heading back to base. as i have never been a big fan of even riding horses the 40 mins ride was easily enough, but a definate good tick of the box of riding an elephant... once back at the base we got to feed the elephants with banana's and then had to unfortunatly watch a baby elepant do some tricks, i felt a bit sad for it really as it must have to do it day in day out, but i must say i was impressed that it had leant to play the Harmonica (which i can't do), hoola Hoop with it's truck and also finally slam dunk a basketball (also, yep, i can not do!) Next was a short trip along the river to a raft, in which we floated along some rapids, nothing really to write home about but a few people got a bit of a scare plus a bit wet when we hit a rock!
After that we were back in the mini bus and heading to the Erawan Wateralls, which were bloody beautiful! 7 stages, and they seem to get more and more beautiful as you got higher, i think it was the second stage that had the biggest fall and was quite a refreshing dip, once in the water you got quite a wierd sensation as all the fish tried to nibble your feet!
My favourite stage was the 7th though as you could, keep on climbing higher and higher to more and more beautiful tranquility!
Mum and I were having good banter with 2 dutch guys along the walk of the waterfalls, we were all completely unprepared wearign flip flops as the walking was quite difficult at times, we also had to laugh at the similarity the walk was to a scene from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, esp. the first stage, where a fat guy, felt like it was his challenge to go swimming in everyone and get a photo, he climbed along a slippy tree trunk and then fell in, so we just left him too it... that'll learn him!
After the waterfalls we had all worked up a bit of hunger and thirst so we took our free lunch and then headed off for the 4th part of our tour... the cave...
to be continued...
