We werent really looking forward to Taupo, as it has a bad rep and that girl was murdered there but it was actually quite nice! we went for a run one morning, i managed about 10 mins then sat on the beach while tom did 5 more minutes then gave up! we also just wandered round the town and did some sorting etc but that was about it! we were going to do the tongariro crossing but the transport was expensive. On the way out of taupo on the bus we stopped in the park to see mt doom and go for a short walk. we went to gollums pool (where he smashes a fish) and a few crazy people, including tom, led by our guide, jumped into the pool. crazy!
