Macau Update

2008-02-17, Taipa, Macau

My last visit to Macau was 9 months ago, at that time the Venetian Hotel and Casino was under construction, now it is open for business, for me it didn't seem as luxurious as the one in Las Vegas but it is now one of the best casinos in Macau, the location of the Venetian is in the Island of Taipa and there is no other casino around it, maybe that explains the few visitors there were on my visit in a Sunday afternoon, but that is going to change in a few months, all around the Venetian a lot of resorts are being built and they will call that area the Cotai strip, it will be an interesting place to see.

In the Macau downtown area the new kid on the block is the MGM Grand, with only one hotel tower completed and two under construction, it has nice atmosphere to gamble and delicious free mango and orange juice complimentary to all players.

In general Macau is getting better and now in my third visit I can say Macau has a lot to offer, I am still discovering some intersting places and new things to do that Macau has to offer, yes; I will be back.
