I´ve been to Costa Rica before.... for 2 hours. When I flew from Madrid I came here to San Jose and sat in the departure lounge waiting for my connecting flight to Guatemala City. I remember sitting there, nervous, panicking a bit because according to my ticket details my flight was with Iberia but the flight number was nowhere to be seen on the board, my Spanish was beyond hopeless, so god knows how I actually got onto the right flight (Iberia franchise out the connecting flights to another airline). Anyway, I remember sitting, looking out of the huge windows in the departure lounge at these high peak hills and thinking, "oh my god, I´m in Costa Rica, I´m in Central America, oh my god". Now I´m back here in Costa Rica and I look at those hills every day from the day care centre. That time at the airport seems like a lifetime away !
Anyway, this weekend I was convinced to go to Manuel Antonio, on the Central Pacific Coast with Melanie (German who also lives in my house), Ingrid, another German and 3 English girls. They are all at school together. Another REALLY nice beach, I didn´t take any photos during the day time as I thought all you back there in blighty might be getting a bit sick of paradise beach shot after paradise beach shot ! Great sunset views though and I got myself a new friend, Spike, as can be seen on the photos.
We got a room a bit like a travel-lodge set up, room enough for 3 of us so it felt like actual major luxury to me after some of the places I´ve stayed in !
The weather was amazing, in fact too bloody hot, spent most of the time in the sea teaching the others how to use a boogie board.
