I have a cunning plan...

yes another one!

forget the "perfect" house I've decided to cancel my application... instead I'm going to get a 2 bed furnished place for 6 months with Leela... the girl I met on wednesday (god was that only yesterday?!). This will give me time to do the following:

1. find my feet a bit
2. my stuff from the UK to arrive
3. Have a few pay cheques (so I know how much money each month I'll be getting after tax etc)
4. share the stress of finding somewhere with someone else... esp as that someone else is an Aussie so has more of an idea what they're doing than I do!
5. it'll be cheaper for now, which is always a bonus

and I'm sure there are loads of other reasons I thought of but I can't remember now. After 6 months I'll find a 2 bed unfurnished place and be in a better position to be able to furnish it, instead of renting somewhere that has absolutely nothing in it, no fridge, nothing! (yes renting in Oz is bizarre) which at teh moment is just too much to handle when you consider everythign else i'm dealing with!!

so I'm madly scanning the internet for places to live so that we can both move asap... more important for Leela since she's living in the bug hotel (waking up with bugs running around your bed can not be very pleasant - is that perhaps the biggest understatement of the year??)

Did I tell you that my laptop died?? well I've got it fixed... no idea what was wrong with it but teh guys have rebuilt my system to make it work again and it all seems to be fine now... wahoo!!! so hopefully within teh next week I can stop this silly internet cafe malarky and be able to upload some pics etc (not that I've taken many... I'll take more now the sun is out :) )

Will be off out tonight on a bit of a boozy night with a bunch of british ex pats. Should be a laugh, especially as it'll be the first alcohol I'll have touched in over a week!! (I know, I know, very unlike me)

but anyway, back to house hunting, hope you're enjoying your rain :)
