anyway, enough about that. I'm trying not to dwell on it.
Latest news... I was walking past the neighbour's front garden yesterday and noticed a spider's web. Nothing especially note worthy about that I hear you cry. HOWEVER, this spider's web was so thick I could see it from 15 metres away and was the size of a 5 a-side football goal net. I dread to think what spun that web... again I'm trying not to dwell on it... moving on...
nothing much else has happened since my last update really... other than more rain and encounters of the 8 legged kind (well it's food catcher at least... I mean what is it trying to catch in that web??? a human??? a baby elephant?!?!). I gave myself yesterday (sunday) off to just do nothing after all my walking around (in the rain) of the previous few days... ironically I feel more tired now having done nothing yesterday than I did on the previous days. jet lag? laziness lethargy? who knows.
Decided to put in an application for the house I saw on Saturday just on the off chance that I'm "meant" to have it (everything else about this Oz plan of mine seems to have been charmed so who knows!) but I don't hold any hope of getting it. however I did see the following ad: http://www.gumtree.com.au/sydney/14/18705814.html
So I've contacted her and we're going to meet up for a drink to see if we like the look of each other. I didn't really want to share especially as I am having all my stuff shipped over but it'd be a good way to get into the rental market and to meet at least one other person (outside of work) I suppose. Anyway, I'll reserve judgement until I meet her. I did a similar thing when I moved to Cardiff (in fact it was exactly the same situation) and it turned out brilliantly and I met some fantastic people as a result. So I shouldn't be too hasty to discount this kind of arrangement again. It could be very single white female or it could be the best move I make... only time will tell.
Oh, another bizarre thing for you brits... woolworths here isn't the cheapy homeware/odds and sods kind of shop you find in the UK it's a food shop... go figure!
Another thing... thus far Australia is the only country I've been to in which Tescos hasn't expended it's empire... watch this space though!! I found one in the jungle in Thailand so it can't be that long until they make their way to Oz. I can't imagine Mum honouring Australia with her presence until (1) they invent teleportation,(2)the rain stops and the sun comes out and (3) there is a tescos store down the road... I'm surprised she's not been employed as their ambassador yet.
anyway... I'm off to brave the rain again... at least the rain makes the web more visible... I mustn't dwell...
