We are trying to go white water rafting on every vacation that we can. It rained so much the last few days though that the river was full. When that happens, rapids disappear and life threatening, fallen trees are hidden from view. Because of that instead of going to the El Toro river - class IV, we had to go to the Sarapiqui River – Class III. Oh well.
On the way to rafting we made a couple of stops to see beautiful iguanas and another sloth! We’re getting lucky with these! There was a Dutch family on our trip that had a senior parents and it turned out they had shoulder problems and couldn’t rotate their arms! Why in the world would you go rafting if you couldn’t move?? Anyway there were 2 boats, so in the beginning we each had to absorb one of the seniors and pick up their slack. Not cool man, not cool. Overall the trip was fun, our guide Bollo was hoot. Definitely one of the highlights for me, it always is! The casado today was at another open restaurant, they had a bug problem ew – but I guess you can’t be picky about that. The food was one of the best though go figure.
What was amazing today though was the volcano finally showed his face! That was great, it was the first time during our trip, and also the only time. We came to find out that the hasn’t appeared in nearly 20 days! Also we finally found our hotel’s hot spring, beautiful private and better than the others that we’ve been to. I can’t believe it took us so long to find it! Silly rain kept us indoors for so long.
