So we left Auckland (yes!) on the kiwi bus and arrived in Paihia, the main town in the bay of islands. It was gorgeous! one day we went on a dolphin tour where there's the possibility of getting in a swimming with them. We couldnt though, coz they had babies with them but it was still amazing. There was about 30 of them all jumping up right next to the boat! it was so amazing that we decided to do it again. this time it wasnt so good as they were grumpy, so because we didnt get a very good experience with them we got to go a third time for free! but it wasnt third time lucky :( they were still being grumpy, but they came close enough for us not to get a free trip! Another day we went up to the very top of new zealand- cape reinga. it was so beautiful up there and we got to sand board down 85m dunes which was fun! we also did a maori culture tour which involved going out to sea in a waka (canoe) and wine tasting! Our guide, nick, had a gorgous husky dog called louis so we walked him one day :) Paihia was gorgeous but we had some right idiots in our dorm, inc a german who thought it was ok to help himself to our stuff :/ the final straw was when i woke up to find some creepy polish guy staring at me while i was asleep! Tom and i checked into a hotel that day....and got a free upgrade! woooo! we were in the superior room which was massive with everything you could want.....and a bath!! i havnt had a bath in 4 months so you can imagine how exited i was! the next day it was back to horrible auckland :(
