We werent really in Blue Hole but Travejournals isnt recognizing Caye Caulker
I really never thought I would ever end up in a real rastafarian Carribbean island... but thats what Caye Caulker turned out to be. Hooray! We had dinner with our tour group and then afterwards had beers on the beach with Julie Joel Madi and a heap of the local stray dogs which were very clean, friendly and well behaved. I found out later that a local artist is putting nearly all of her money made into taking care of all the stray dogs. But the sign up at the post office says there is now to many so they are putting them all down as they find them. Lame. We also found a smashed up cinderella pinyata on a chair and took some photos with her because were all such mature adults and stuff...
Next day I hired a bicycle and spent the day riding around the island paths along the beaches, mangroves, foresty areas and the cute little town. Heaps of cool cafes playing good music and crazy rastafarians everywhere. And everything mooooves soooo slooooowly. Which was great for me because my bike had no brakes, so it was easy not to crash into people when they all move so slow and the fastest vehicle on the island is a golf buggy and you cant take them very fast over all the potholes and bumps in the road.
So I had lunch with Peter, beer on the beach with Madi, riding with Julie and Joel and bumped into nearly everyone from our tour group along the way. And there was a beautiful full moon over the water. Niiice. Had giant burritos for dinner and then woke up at 4 am to find my nose ring had fallen out so I had to find that then re-pierce the hole again. Have had to do that nearly every night since. This is VERY lame.
But I love Caye Caulker
