This was our first day out on the south Island and what a day this was.We spent afew hours out on a boat and were all lucky enough to see a massive sperm whale nearly 30 metres long in the first 10 minutes of the trip, while another boat had been waiting an hour before we got there. The whales only surface for 10 minutes so after it had gone we had time to go looking for Dusky Dolphins. We found them and no word of a lie there was easily over three hundred of them all flying around everywhere doing flips and spins which was really amazing to see. There was lots of baby ones and even a sealion playing with them too. on the way back we spotted another sperm whale - god there massive. we could tell it was a different one by the different markings on the tale fin. We had managed to time our trip perfectly and we all felt so lucky.

That evening we decided to walk into town for a few beers and it turned out to be a really good drunken night.
