Backwards update.updating backwards to back in time. hooray for time travel We stayed in Granada for a few days in a Pension run by an angry man. Saturday was a sweet deal. We made a really cheap dodgy batch of Sangria and went to the park to drink it, paint fans that we scored for free and listen to music.
As it turns out, Plaza Neuva is like a mini Moroccon/Indian town with tiny alleyways completely packed with stalls selling Indian and Nepalese stuff. Also, lots of little Moroccan cafes with Shishas, fancy decorations, tiny tables and exotic teas served in fancy teapots. Oooooh yeah. We saw a man in the square blowing MASSIVE bubbles. Bigger than Betty bubbles.. and she makes big bubbles. We also ran a shop for a nice man while he ran off to another shop to look for stuff. We actually minded his shop for him on two occasions and both times I had to try explain to customers who donīt speak any english that the man who actually owned the shop would be back soon.
Anyway, I am now the proud owner of the warmest and most funky jacket ever. Sadly, they only had XL so itīs huge and Iīve had to make adjustments. I also sewed myself a jumper using the blanket I took from my Qantas flight. AND Madiīs mum gave me another jumper she didnīt want. Hooray for warm things!
Yeah Granada. That night we went to the bohemian jazz cafe where you can eat off a piano and admite the fancy decorations and indulge in something from the craaaazy menu. The menu has a huge assortment of ice cream, chocolate, coffee type cocktails, hot drinks, deserts etc. Alcoholic of course. And nothing but chocolate and ice cream tasty things on the menu. So we ended up drinking alcoholic fondue again, getting very sick and having the eat pizza in an attempt to feel better.
The next day we went to the Alhambras. Iīll update that separately. Also while in Granada, checked out some amazing street art and graffiti, drank fancy teas, drank tasty choc banana cocktails, got lost and found the best restaurant so far, a cute little vegetarian place with a kickass menu, a cute little old man running the show and reeeeeeeeeeeally tasty food. So we gorged ourselves on yummy things and again got very sick. hooray!
Just a few things on Spain. -Itīs illegal to hang clothes or towels over balconies -Iīve yet to find fresh or even cold milk -The street art here is amazing. Lots of figurative stuff, cartoons and huge peices, not much writing -I saw Africa across the sea... itīs really close! -Thereīs a fair bit of īanti-environmental artī and smog around -no drought! -The sunrises over the ocean in Callahonda were beautiful, when I could get up before midday to see them
blah blah
love!
