So this is my first and apparently long overdue update on my online journal. Sorry if I haven´t had time to reply to any emails, myspace or elljay messages, comments etc. It´s busy times.
Right now I´m in Granada, up in the mountains. This morning on the way here I finally felt the mediterranean sea and collected some shells and some coloured rounded glass peices that I haven´t seen since we used to camp at that place in New Zealand when we were kids. Even more exciting, there was a funny fat man wearing tiny little D.Ts doing handstands and tai chi type excercises at th beach. Fun times.
Madi and I are staying here for a few days. Our hostal thing doesn´t have a bar fridge so we´re using our tiny balcony as a fridge because the weather outside gets to be about 4 degrees at times.
I really do wish I had bothered to learn some Spanish. For the first few days I kept forgetting that I was in Spain so I´d get very confused when I couldn´t communicate with anyone at all. Also, it just seems plain rude to come here not knowing the local language and expect everyone to have either know English or to go out of their way to help me anyway. My sign language is improving a bit.
So the entries are really just what I´ve been doing and seeing. Not many thoughts or ideas or mega interesting stories etc. but I´ve spent so long rambling on and taking too much time detailing what´s only been a weeks worth of events. So TOO BAD because its nearly 8.30 and we´ve got a jazz bar to go to and some Mojitos to drink.
