Dallas was in San Francisco for a couple of weeks for work and I stopped by for the weekend to hang out and celebrate his birthday.
Parking is ridiculous there!! The hotel that we stayed at was $40 a night + tax!! We stayed at Hotel Nikko in Union Square. They were having a Nike women’s half marathon that weekend so things were really busy in that area. The hotel is much nicer online than in person. Here are some photos.
The first night we decided to eat at a Japanese restaurant near the hotel and walk around the area. We ate at Hana Zen where I had some of the best udon noodle soup ever! Upon recommendation we stopped by the Macy’s basement and got the most amazing cookies ever from Tom’s cookies. They are all natural!! It’s also their only storefront – SAD.
We then took the trolley to fisherman’s wharf ($5 one way regardless of distance?! Rip off), it was drizzling a little bit and because it was toward the evening the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl that Dallas was craving wasn’t anywhere to be found. We ate at Tarantino’s which had mediocre food but happened to have a great location. My salad had so much dressing it was completely inedible…
