All I want for Christmas is a little HELP!

As scary as this sounds Christmas is just around the corner. Somehow it still feels like summer to me. The year round sunshine and constant heat might have something to do with that, but I’m not trying to rub it in or anything I promise! This year will be my first Christmas without a Christmas tree. No sitting in the dark watching the lights twinkle while I eat lemon squares and cookies. This year will also be the first Christmas I don’t gain 5 pounds. Coincidence? Quite possibly.

Why am I sending out this email talking about Christmas lights and cookies? I’m so glad you’ve asked! I’m starting to brainstorm ideas for a Christmas pageant type party for the Hope House kids and am wondering if you have any fun ideas! I’m open to any suggestions. Am I willing to dress up like an elf and run around with pointy ears and bells on my shoes? Of course, but lets focus more on the kids, people!

My idea so far: a Christmas pageant open to anyone who wants to come, hosted by the Hope House kids. We sing songs, put on a skit or two, maybe have each bedroom sing a song or read a poem, the mommies can put together something as well and invite their families. I’m picturing candy canes and hot chocolate afterwards in the Hope House. It can become a Christmas tradition!

What do you think? Who knows some great interactive Christmas songs? And what about simple skits that could be translated easily? I want to make it one amazing night for the kids: something to look forward to, something to remember!

I can’t wait to hear your ideas!

Next entry: Merry almost Christmas
