A thing called life.

There are certain things that, no matter what is going on, will light me up from the inside out. Do you ever feel so completely content you feel like your floating? Like you’re sitting on top of the world with your legs hanging free? I mean, a peace that doesn’t even make any sense, not to you, or to anyone else.

The last few weeks have been interesting to say the least. The rain has not stopped, the clouds block the sun from warming my heart, I’ve been sick on and off now for over two weeks, I’m behind at work and struggling to catch up, I can’t get online without a serious test of my patience, I’m feeling homesick since my Father’s hand surgery, I’m moving tomorrow into an apartment that is still under construction, my house is a totally chaotic mess but still as I write this there is nothing I would rather be doing, there is no where I would rather be. I’m not giddy and bubbly. I’m barely optimistic and am struggling to stay positive, but my heart is full of joy. I struggle to find the words to be able to share this feeling. I walk around smiling at no one for no reason at all.

It’s the mangoes, the hugs, the smiles. The kind words. It’s being there for a child when they need someone to talk to. It’s being asked if I can be called Mommy. It’s having children race to hug you when you come into view. It’s knowing you are doing what God created you to do. It’s the ipod you never thought you would own. It’s familiar voices over the phone. It’s knowing you are loved. It’s an email from your long lost friend. It’s secrets and giggles. It’s washing machines and water pressure. It’s a stranger buying you paint. It’s singing and laughing. It’s a new Dave Matthews song. It’s being understood. It’s having someone to talk to. It’s sisters and cousins. It’s puppies and peanut butter. It’s having power past noon. It’s a fresh coat of paint. It’s new curtains. It’s guacamole and black bean salsa. It’s Ikea magazines and Better Homes and Gardens. It’s flowers and green plants. It’s rice and beans.

It’s life and I love it.
