It’s Almost Thanksgiving!
My roommates and I stayed up until 1 in the morning last night and talked about Thanksgiving and everything else. We can’t believe how fast the months here have passed and how sad it will be to leave each other. It’s amazing how well we all get along; I couldn’t have asked to live with a better group of girls!
We are doing our best to make an American style Thanksgiving in Italy. Emily and I are in charge of mashed potatoes and an apple salad, Lexi and Ana are making pie, Britt and her friend are making stuffing and Jackie is making noodles. We decided to not make a turkey because our oven is so little and we all have class on Thursday so it would be too much of a hassle! After dinner we are going to have wine with all the girls upstairs, there should be 17 of us total!
My friend from grade school, Andrea, gets into Florence tonight and she is going to spend the weekend with me. She left last week and is visiting 4 friends that are all studying abroad this semester. It’s a miracle that she actually made it though because a few days before she left, she went to make a copy of her passport and noticed it had expired in August. She got it when she was a minor and those expire in 5 years instead of 10. She was devastated and thought she would never be able to get it renewed within 3 days; somehow she made it happen and she will be here by 6:30 tonight! I’m really excited for her to get here! The only bummer is that I have an Italian quiz and Mafia presentation tomorrow, so I will have to study tonight. On Friday though we are going to go to the market, Boboli Gardens, and Piazza Michelangelo for dinner with my roommates. Then she is leaving Saturday afternoon already!
I suppose I should get some studying in before she gets here! Oh ya, I’m going to get my hair cut at a salon near our apartment. All of my roommates have gone there already and now it’s my turn to get a new style to match my new color, oh boy!
Buon Ringraziamento, (Happy Thanksgiving)
