Wow i didnt realise how long it had been since i wrote in this :s i've got to try really hard to remember everything now! so after Hervey bay we arrived in rainbow beach. Its a really cool little town with not much going on except surfing! so we booked a surf lesson...we booked it on the same day as a dolphin kayak tour which was a bad idea to start! the dolphin kayaking was really cool but we had to paddle for 1 1/2 hours to get to the dolphins and it was really windy so we were already shattered! the wind had started to pick up even more by then so the guides gave us about 5 mins with the dolphins (which was amazing but we all wanted longer!) and then we had to paddle back against really heavy wind, waves and currents. it took us about an hour and we were SHATTERED after! we then went back for lunch before starting our surf lesson. The lesson consisted of us being given hugggggggge boards (mine was way to big for me, i couldnt even carry it!) we were shown how to stand for about 10 mins before we were in having a go. I had no chance because it was so windy and the waves were massive! i couldnt even stand up in the water on my own, let alone on a surf board! so after 3 attempts and after getting smacked on the head by the board, i got out. closely followed by a the german girl who was with tom and i on the lesson. Tom was brilliant though and was managing to stand up fine! The rest of out time in rainbow was spent chilling and we went to a big sandblow called the carlo sandblow. It was huge and fun!
