Today Christian drove Amelie & I south from Munich to the foothills of the Alps. In the village of Auschau on the border with Austria, we took an aerial tram up to the Berggasthof Kampenwand (at an Alps-modest altitude of 1680 m) and hiked around a bit. I also did a little bit of free climbing on the rocks.
In the restaruant up top I ate something called Leverkas (pronounced LEE-ber-kees) with sauerkraut. Translated literally, Leverkas means "liver cheese", which is odd considering it contains neither liver nor cheese. It's basically like a big, flat hot dog.
After snapping a few photos, we returned back down to Auschau and headed home. Amelie then drove back to central Germany (where she currently works), and I prepared for my travel day tomorrow. I think I may alter some of my plans so that I can hike through the Alps for a week or so in October.
