Hi all
So I thought it was about time for an update…

Everything has been ticking along as usual… working and enjoying weekends. Am getting pretty bored at work, so would really like a science job. I am still applying for lots, and people are passing on my cv etc, so something has got to happen some time! I am also exploring the gymnastics coaching possibilities as there are plenty here and they pay pretty well. There are a few positions next year – one sounds great, is full-time, half coaching and half managing. So seems pretty good. And I’m quietly hoping a similar one will come up at the gym close to me, as they currently have no boys’ programme (which by the way, here they spell the horrible American way: program) and the owner mentioned to me that he would like to start one. So fingers crossed…

We need to start looking for a new house as our unit does not have aircon and we will not love that in summer!!! So kind of just looking on internet, but we need to get proactive about it. Our unit is really good otherwise, but the no aircon will kill us in Jan and Feb! So we will hopefully find something in the same area. Our lease is up on the 27th Dec which is not good timing!

Have got lots people coming over in next wee while which should be great. And last week caught up with a friend who I haven’t seen in bout 4 years so that was really good. But Josh and Kam are arriving on Mon for about 2 weeks (they were supposed to get here today but missed their flights…), then Bec is coming over for few days at the end of Nov, and then Scott and Cosette are coming over in Dec. So it will be busy but good.

What else… lately have been watching few movies – saw Death at a Funeral – pretty good, British comedy, and last night saw Elizabeth the Golden (Age) with Cate Blanchett – which was really good – would recommend it to anyone! I was pretty compelled the whole movie long. Went and watched another soccer game at Suncorp – QLD Roar vs Wlgn Phoenix. Was pretty good except the last 25 mins when QLD scored 3 goals… other than that the Phoenix were actually looking okay. Went to Fat Freddys Drop concert few Sundays ago which was good as always. Had to leave before it finished cos it got to 12 midnight on a Sunday night… had to get up at 620 next day… and this Wednesday we are going to Muse. So should be good, but another late school night.

Went to a food and wine festival last weekend which was really good. $16 to get in then oodles of food and drinks. Though I still can’t get used to Aussie wines, just taste so much stronger than NZ ones. Can’t wait to have a smooth, easy to drink wine! But the festival was great. Got some really good deals and tried heaps of different stuff. There was so much there that we could have spent a whole day there probably.

That’s about all I think. Had a nice birthday – Dan had organised the day which was great. Had lunch with my Paul, Fiona and my cousins at one of the great tea houses here, and then had dinner with friends and people from work at a really nice restaurant right on the river. The food was beautiful. This weekend is club champs for my squash club so have played a match today and won it in three games, and won my second (because the other person didn’t turn up – was an easy way to win a game – didn’t even break into a sweat!). And have two more matches (best of 5 games for each) tomorrow. So will be tired, ready for Monday night competition!!

Righto that must be enough from me! I am home from the 15th to 30th of December, and will probably be around Ham/Akld/Taupo the whole time so hopefully will catch up with most of you then!

Hope all is well,
Kim

PS – it has really cooled down here the last two weeks, don’t think we have gotten above 27 degrees… I don’t know how I’ll cope at home!! 
PPS – have added pics from my birthday dinner
