Had an early start and went out to get some food supplies for the bus journey. Wasnt feeling the best today think it musta been that horrible food i had last night. Not having the best stomach to travel with is always a bad thing lol.

Anyway got a minibus to the bus station, then from there we got this shitty bus to Ipoh for 2 and a half hours. Got to stop here for 15mins, just enough time to get stocked up on the food supplies. Then from there we travelled for another 4 hours of uphill on a very windy road to Tanah Rata. The bus driver was useles, he drove at only 3mph uphill the whole way...i am not kidding it felt like a lifetime. To show how slow we were we even got passed by someone walking lol!! It was so funny...we thought the bus was gonna blow anytime.

Just about made it to the Cameron Highlands and our wee town Tanah Rata... and then had a short walk to our guesthouse. It was a Muslim owned place so we had to take of our shoes before heading in through the door. Just to note The Cameron Highlands is a hill resort at the northernmost tip of Pahang state, Malaysia. The town itself was small and from first impressions there didnt seem to be much to do about it. We went to go for a walk that was apprentently supposed to take an hour but only lasted 15mins lol!

Got dinner that night and the heavens opened on us. It was funny everything was soaking wet so we headed back to the questhouse with a few drinks and sat an played a few games alnight.

Next day we got up and got stuff packed up because we would be out for the day before heading on again. We all headed off to the tea plantation but first we stopped off at a butterfly and insect farm. It wasn't the kindest of places for these wee creatures to be living in and the handlers had no respect for the animals. I didnt like it so i left and waited outside. After we headed onto the tea plantation.

This Cameron Highlands hill station is one of Malaysia's most famous. It was actually established by a scottsman William Cameron, who was a British surveryor in 1885. It is famous for its tea plantations and strawberry farms.

The tea plantation was really impressive, there was so much of it. Only the new baby shoots that grow on the top of the tea bush are picked to make the tea. We got to see the machinery that is used to grind the tea down and then get to taste the tea at the end...it was really good tea. Mum and Dad you would love it.

After this we were on the move again...this time off to the strawberry farm. There were just strawberry plants everywere and we got to pick some. I picked the biggest, reddest, juicyist ones that i could find and ate them all...ooh they were delicious.

After the strawberry farm we went back to collect our bags and head to the bus station. We caugh our bus to Kuala Lumpur or KL as the locals know it. So goodbye to the Cameron Highlands...it was nice seeing the beautiful scenery this place had to offer and the tea. Glad I visited here...it sure was interesting.
