Today I have spoken more French than in my entire life! I remember so much and I forget so much. I'd say I've been super successful today talkign with Lera and with random people at the Gare du Nord. I got a little settled and we went to Sacre-Coeur. It is huge and beautiful. Her apartment is in the 1ere arrondissement. I'm excited to be here, I think it will be SO different from the rest of the trip. Just having to speak so much French is tiring. As I got more sleepy I just wanted to speak Spanish. But, wow. I'm in Paris. It's still cloudy, but much warmer than in Berlin.
Exactly one week until I go home. This one guy on the Barth tour mentioned how after a bit you get used to the European rhythm and going home is v. strange. I totally know what he means. I wonder what my French sounds like to fluent people... I'm afraid to ask!
The Eiffel Tower is illuminated! I'm watching the craziness that is traffic in Paris. It's amazing. It's a miracle that the whole city isn't dead. The Louvre is directly across the intersection from Lera's flat and it's enormous.
