Since we wouldn't be around for the notorious full moon party we decided to check out the Black Moon Party for a taste of the island party life. After lazing around on the beach in the sun all day, saving our energy for the night, we started out with the backpackers favourite past time of cards and drinks. With a large group of twelve tipsy travellers we decided to be adventurous and walk to the party up the beach. After a few encounters with snippy crabs and some wet dresses later we finally made it to the party after what seemed to have been forever. It had been taunting us from afar as we could see and hear the party the whole walk there. The party was pretty crazy with tons of glow in the dark painted partiers, lots of "buckets" of sangsom (Thai whiskey) for cheap and an unstable dance floor of sand, which only made the drunks look even drunker. Apart from the entry fee to the party it was good fun and like most we made it back to our bungalow at "Silvery Moon" when the sun was just ready to rise....
