I arrived in Vang Veing after a much less stressfull bus ride where I slept a bit, and there was a chicken, and some guy smoking opium in front of me. But it was good!

The town was great right off the bat..I followed 2 guys I met on the bus who had been there before to the main streets. I found a guest house and headed out looking for a late night beer. I was walking for 2 min when I hear HEEY Mr Canadian! I looked back to see a group of 4 Brits that I had met on the slow boat to Luang Prabang! And they were feelin no pain!

The next day I went for breakfast, my usual a (fresh baguette and scrambelled eggs with something that resembled bacon) and watched and episode of FRIENDS?. All over the town in every little restaurant they had on non stop re runs of FRIENDS and in some the Simpsons and Family Guy! Brillant! I realy dont care if I see another episode of FRIENDS again! (after 4 days of them)

I met up with the 4 English lads and we all rented tubes and went floating down the Nam Song river for the day! The scenery was stunning, large limestone cliffs that were all covered in jungle! The whole course would take about an hour if there werent 6 or 7 bars lining the banks of the river! All of them would play whatever music you wanted and had Laos and western food and drinks gallore! Every bar also had a huge rope swing that had a water ski handle attached to it and sent you out sailing into the river! Then you had to swim like a dolphin to get back to shore! It was Great! Got a little crazy with the combination of liquid courage and cameras! They also had V ball courts and Rotten ball courts. One bar you could walk off into the bush and these was a cave with a lagoon in side you could swim in! Needless to say I did the trip twice and it took from 11 am to 6pm both times! Great fun! The second time I met a great Israeli couple who were both just finished their army service, he was a sniper and she was a weapons trainer! They also loved taking great pictures and I of course love showing off mu stuff! We got along swell!
