My next stop along the way was in Noosa, where I had planned to go to Steve Irwin's zoo. This, however, did not happen do to the unfortunate monsoon like rain that happened on the day I was supposed to go. Although I could have stayed another night in Noosa, which would have been fine, I had already booked my bus ticket to Surfer's Paradise. Oh well, I guess I missed out again. Turns out going to that zoo is not the cheapest venture either, and truly I'm not even that disappointed that I didn't go.
Anyway, my stay in Noosa was good. A couple days of what I thought were going to be relaxing evenings of reading a book or something turned into a long night at the only night club in town. I moved into my room and introduced myself to my English room mate Sam and the first words that came out of our mouth were:
"Hi I'm Mike" "Hi I'm Sam" "Goon?"
So that short little exchanged turned into a night of drinking games and getting to know a bunch of other people as well including 6 other Canadians. For the first time since I've been in Australia the Canadian contingency outnumbered the brits. The night was long and as the sun rose I made my triumphant return to my room after getting lost in Noosa.
The next day I met a Swedish guy named Hannes and we trecked through Noosa's national park which was cool. It was a long walk, and probably the most exercise I've got since I've been in this country but it was really picturesk. Hannes was really cool too. He was a nice guy and some of the things he told me about hating people from Germany made me laugh to no end. So after 10km of walking that morning, this little tug boat had to turn in, I was tired.
Then I was off to Surfer's Paradise which probably has the coolest name for a city ever in the history of the world. I just got here so I don't have much to write about Surfers so I will do that before I leave.
New news... Probably the most random news of all. Get a phone call telling me my dad. Beloved Yvan will be coming to Sydney in a couple days and I will be seeing my dad on the other side of the world in about 2 weeks. How random is that? I know right? That's what I said too.
Soooooooooooooooooooooo until my next adventure, which is only beginning, may the force be with you, but mostly with me.
