Hi everyone

So since it has been so long since my last update I will attempt to tell you how we have been filling in time…

In general: is starting to heat up – most days for past few weeks have been 30 degree average. Supposed to get to 34 this weekend… so it is warm!! No need to ever close sliding doors and windows, or take jerseys to work.

Work: I am still temping at same place. Is still going well, though I would like to get a science job soon…

Fun stuff:

- Have started playing competition squash which is cool, but still prefer clubs nights I think.

- Did a 10 km run thing in Sept which was cool. Should do more of them…

- had a few social party/cocktail evenings with chicks from work which have been cool. (see pics)

- went on a bus shopping tour around Brisbane

- got a girlfriend for our Siamese fighting fish

- Went to RiverFire – the start of the Brisbane River Festival. Half an hour of fireworks coming off barges in 5 different places along the river, so you can go anywhere in Brisbane near a river and see them. The fireworks were pretty awesome! And went for so long and started and finished with 2 F1-11s flying up the river and doing fuel drop. So that was pretty cool. We watched it from Southbank (obviously on the southern bank of the river) directly opposite the CBD and they had heaps of fireworks off the top of the CBD buildings too. So was very cool. (see pics)

- Andrew, Dan’s friend who is a soldier in Timor, came over and stayed the other week and we hired a car with another chick too and went down to the gold coast for the weekend. Was excellent – two days of sun, beach, and swimming. I was surprised at how packed the beach was considering it was only September!!! Don’t get that back home!! But it was good- bout 30 degrees so was loving the water. And we had some very nice meals out. Didn’t go to any theme parks cos it was Aus and NZ school holidays… not fun!! (more pics) we hired a 3 bdrm apartment (only $150 a night) in Surfers and it was massive and on 19th floor 3 blocks from beach. So was very good. Had awesome views from all windows – that is where most of pics were from. And we went on the ride in the pics. It was called the vomatron. And the name kind of gives it away!! But I didn’t vomit! It was pretty cool though. Saw the beach upside down and from very high!

- went to see Wellington Phoenix play the Queensland Roar (soccer for those who aren’t familiar) last night. Dan’s work have a corporate box in Suncorp stadium. So that was all very nice and comfortable!!! Although NZ lost 2-1, it was pretty exciting still.

That’s about all the news I think. Just doing usual life things… watching the rugby tonight and tomoro morning etc.

Hope everyone is well.

Let me know if anyone is coming over to Brisbane!!

Going to Muse concert in Nov and also Fat Freddys so that will be cool. And might investigate the park movies soon – there are about 8 locations where they have movies outside in parks around the place, every weekend so would be cool.

Righto, I will stop typing now!!!

Next entry: November update
