28 09 07 off to the coast.
There are some sore heads this morning after the wine tasting and birthday celebrations of yesterday.
Today we are off the Royan to have some fresh seafood. Bronwyn and Paul raved about the oysters here, and a trip to the ocean on a ferry seems a good thing, and we are here to see the countryside.
We are two down with a couple deciding that a quiet day at home is more suitable.
The food was really worth the trip, and of course we saw some more fabulous countryside. It was lovely to see the beach, even tho the tide was out – th beautiful blue of the sky was reflected in the outgoing tide. So many wineries! Every region is different, and there is no way to see everything.
We unfortunately went overboard with the food, having a dessert that really was no necessary, but sooooo good. It was a raspberry tart with fresh cream and raspberry sorbet, and whipped cream and toasted almonds as a garnish. Yum!
We got home and needed to go for a walk to settle everything into its proper place. We discovered the local cemetery and also a factory that makes noise all through the night.
The bonus was finding a good supply of dead wood for the fire tonight. The nights are cool, and the days crisp, and a fire is just so good at night.
It was a simple dinner at home with the local pizza for us tonight. Some of the party went back to the local restaurant, but after the heavy lunch, thee was no way we could tackle a proper meal at night.
