The last few weeks have been very relaxed, which means more time to get to know the new city and meet more of the people. When arriving to Spain we received this bus and train passes called Abono, take advantage of these. Its kind of confusing at first how to work the trains and stuff but it gets a lot easier(especially if you're not from a big city that uses this kind of transportation). Just about every week some friends and I take the train to Madrid and hangout all day, shopping or sitting in Retiro Park (this is probably the most beautiful place in Spain) and it's kind of nice to do something besides always going to the Plaza in Alcala.
I definitely can see a difference in my Spanish, I am able to speak with my family a lot more and understand them more and more every day ( I was really worried that my Spanish wouldn't get better but I can definitely see a change. So, if your worried about the language barrier it does take time to communicate but you will always be improving.
