Hey just a quick note to let you's all know that i have made it the length of Mongolia. Im in Ulaanbaatar at the moment arrived in at 5 this morning. Had a day and 2nites on the train to get here. The Russian and Mongolian border crossings was crazy...it took 11hrs in total to go thru the passport control, customs, visas, etc. Was a really good experience tho.
Im here for today and then tomoro morning i head out to the traditional Ger Camp to spend the day and nite. Cant wait...am so excited. We are meeting the locals and going horse riding plus more. Then back into Ulaabaater the next day and leave the following morning on train to Beijing!!
I'll write up all what i do in Mongolia here but for now this will keep you's all going lol!! Just to note im now 7hrs ahead of you's all back at home. Well gotta flyon here am goin to see some traditional mongolian street entertainment. Catch you's all soon. Bye for now :)
Well id a class time in Mongolia. I went to the view point of Ulaanbaatar...it was really nice. Then i went around the city looking at different monuments and some big budda statues. They are big into their buddist religion over here. That evening i went to see some traditional Mongolian song and dance. Its was brilliant, the costumes were class and the singin was hilirious...nothing like ive ever heard before, could hardly stop laughting. Was so good.
The next day we headed out to the Ger Camp...i absolutely loved it! The wee camp was so cool. We did alot of hiking and did horse riding as well. Liz leant me some allergie tablets so they worked abit mum! lol i loved it, went through loads of rivers up mountains, through valleys etc it was brilliant, noone telling you were to go or to not gallop...was the best horse riding that ive done. Went to visit a local Mongolian family that lives in the Ger hut. They were so sweet...they had yaks milk and yogurt that they offered to us. Augh it was rotten...i nearly puked! Yuck even the thought of it makes me feel sick lol. Spent the nite at the camp with r wee stove fires in each hut was so cosy. Next morning got up and back into Ulaanbaatar.
Just futtered about for most of the day and went shoppin...didnt get nething tho :( did some food shopping for the train and had a few drinks that nite, ready for the train in the morning.
I really liked Mongolia, the people are so friendly altho see when they get into a car they are scary people lol. The city itself isnt much but the atmosphere and people on the streets give it its character. I really like the way that still alot of the Mongolian people live in the Ger Huts...i hope they keep this going, its a nice part of their culture. Overall i had an absolute ball in Mongolian, hopefully go back some day and see a bit more of it.
