Wasting weeks beneath the sun

2007-09-30, Magnetic Island, Australia

Once again it was time to move on. Time to hit the road and piss on more trees to mark my territory. Since I last wrote it was more of the same in Cairns. Going out every night and shaking everything that mama gave me. I won a very nice contest one evening at the bar that got me a bar tab, and for that I am very appreciative. Britney left for Cambodia so that left me on my own, but instead of going anywhere yet I moved in with Ellie and Jamie. Two British girls that argued about the stupidest things I've ever heard, but did they ever sound intelligent doing so. When you have a British accent they can talk about the long term effects of Viagra as a variable in the heart attacks of men in their 70s, and still sound like they should be winning the noble prize. I'd vote for them anyway.

Last night I bid Cairns adieu and took the Greyhound from Cairns down to Townsville. The bus ride was long and tiring. I can't sleep on buses and this one was no exception. I did however get to be woken up by a German guy coughing up what I would only imagine to be his Kidney. At 5:30 this morning I arrived in Townsville and jumped on the ferry over to Magnetic Island where I am sitting right now.

So here I am, at my new home for the next few days. Magnetic Island is where I'm at and wasting the day in the sun is the name of the game. I'll be so dark by the time I get home I might as well open a bottle depot. It's very lovely here, however there is not a whole lot to do. The "town" I'm staying in actually reminds me of Vimy, or Busby or something. A bunch of Australian hillbillies running around with their shirts off and cut off jean shorts. Today I saw a woman with an ass in the front and she was wearing a bikini and unfortunately for me I need my eyes to see or else I would have plucked them from my head. Simple surgery really, all I need is a spoon and a medicated swab.

The new news is that I'm travelling solo. Probably for the remainder of my time in Oz. It's going to be a new experience for sure and I'm looking forward to meeting new people and staying in hostels. Right now I'm staying at a place called Magnum, well I guess I'm not even staying there yet. I've been waiting for my room for 4 hours now. Apparently there was a full moon party here the other night, I asked the guy how many people were there and he said about 2000. Woopity doo, I went to the real full moon party in Thailand and 2000 people is nada. I've got about 7-8 more stops along the east coast of Oz before I take off for Bali. So really I have about 6 weeks to get the things I want to get done done, and then I'm off to another poor country and make myself feel like a king. I'm not sure whether or not I will see Mark again before I go home, he seems to want to stay in Melbourne for some reason, but whatever that's his choice and me... I'll rip this country up and make some bad decisions along the way.

Hopefully my room will be ready soon so I can go pass out and die for the next few hours. Well... If I can actually fall asleep. So with that I shall say goodbye, and I shall write again soon.

Oh right in front of me is a poster for the recognition of Chlamydia as most common in 16 to 25 year old. Just thought you all should know.

Pace.....
